What is “payrolling?” and how can it help my business?
The JSS Group works with many businesses who have chosen not to bring on an employee as a company hire, rather “payroll” the employee through us. That means that we are the employer of record and we take care of all payroll expenses such as taxes, unemployment,* and worker’s compensation, employee pay (paper checks or direct deposit) and all reporting, including W-2’s. There’s nothing for you to do but approve time each week.
*Kentucky has a 10 week unemployment rule, so the risk is ours.
Outsourcing payroll frees up time for the employer since they do not have to deal with taxes; this includes researching tax updates and changes, and filling out lengthy tax documents.
Filing taxes incorrectly or late can cost the employer a substantial amount of money; we withhold and remit all taxes due.
No uncertainty of whether software is the up-to-date, along with the potential IT issues that come with a software are alleviated by using a payroll service.
We maintain all employee pay histories which they can access at any time.
